FAQs
What should I bring to a Hays Spin class?
Water bottle – Staying hydrated is key to any workout!
Comfortable workout clothing – Wear something that allows freedom of movement.
Cycling shoes – If you have clip-in shoes, bring them along. If not, no problem! Your sneakers will be just fine.
Towel – You'll work up a sweat, so it's helpful to bring one!
Do I need to sign up in advance?
Yes, you’ll need to sign-up in advance to save your spot. You won’t officially be listed in class until we receive your $5 payment and the class spots will be reserved in order of payment. Classes fill up quickly, and booking ahead ensures you have a bike waiting for you. Walk-ins are welcome, but class availability is not guaranteed.
Is Hays Spin suitable for beginners?
Absolutely! Our classes are designed to accommodate all fitness levels. Aubrey provides modifications to help beginners feel comfortable, and they’ll guide you through the bike setup, form, and pacing. Whether you're new to cycling or an experienced rider, you'll find a supportive and welcoming environment to help you grow.
What can I expect in a typical spin class?
A typical spin class at Hays Spin is a 45-minute, high-energy workout that combines intervals of cycling at various intensities, including sprints, climbs, and endurance rides. But we also rest between songs and sets! The classes are set to energizing music, and Aubrey will motivate you to push your limits while fostering a positive community atmosphere. Expect to work up a sweat while having fun!
How do I adjust my bike?
Before the class starts, Aubrey will assist you in adjusting your bike for proper fit, including saddle height, handlebar position, and pedal straps or clips. Proper bike setup is essential for a comfortable and effective ride. Just be sure to come early to insure you have a time for the quick tutorial.
How much experience do I need to take a class?
No experience necessary! Aubrey will guide you through the entire class, from bike setup to the workout itself. You can go at your own pace and adjust the resistance to match your fitness level. We encourage you to challenge yourself but never push beyond your limits.
What if I’m not able to keep up with the class?
Don’t worry! Aubrey is there to motivate and encourage you. You can always adjust the resistance on your bike, take breaks as needed, and listen to your body. The beauty of spin is you’re able to set your own pace and resistance. You’ll hear Aubrey constantly say, “You’re in charge, I just make suggestions!”. Spin is about progress, not perfection, and every ride is a step toward reaching your fitness goals.
Can I attend spin if I have injuries or medical conditions?
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries, it’s important to consult with your healthcare provider before starting any fitness program. Aubrey can help you modify the workout to fit your needs, but always be sure to get clearance from your doctor first.
How do I get started?
Getting started is easy! Simply sign up for a class through our booking system, come a little early to check in, and Aubrey will guide you through everything you need to know. If it’s your first class, don’t hesitate to let Aubrey know, and she’ll offer additional guidance.
